Madelynn Martiniere is a designer, facilitator, and strategist working at the intersection of emerging technology, cooperative economics, and cultural change. For nearly two decades she has built innovation ecosystems centered on open access, community ownership, and collective power, from co-designing an entrepreneurship hub in Uganda to leading a digital platform for sustainable fisheries in Mexico and facilitating data sovereignty initiatives tied to the UN SDGs.
As Managing Partner at Armillaria, a systems design lab, she works with communities and organizations building more equitable, resilient infrastructure. A career “community architect”, her practice centers participatory design, developing the social, organizational, and technical structures that let communities govern and share the resources shaping their future, work directly relevant to co-designing a nomad-local Chiang Mai.
